Subject	Is eliminating the knock sensor connector a bad

Message	idea if you manually connect the wires? So I went and checked the Detonation Sensor Harness (where it plugs to the connector off the EFI harness) and the black wire was stripped and held on by 2 strands of copper wire coming out of the connector. I couldnt re-wire it to the end of the connector because there was not enough wire coming out of the connector itself. So I eliminated the connector itself and manually spliced the two wires apart from each side of the connector and manually wired them together by crimps. I'm still getting code 34. Is eliminating the connector itself bad?
